I grew up in a low-income family in Hong Kong. My family could not afford to enroll me in any paid activities/hobbies when I was young. I was fortunate to come of age at a time when social mobility was highly possible. I beat the odds, obtained a competitive professional degree, and climbed the social ladder. My adventurous spirit led me away from my home city. I left Hong Kong and came to the U.S. alone to pursue my professional dreams in 2016. I was 30 years old.
I had never owned a car before coming to the U.S. I asked a friend what car I should buy and said I wanted something fast and affordable. That led me to a GTI. With no friends or family in the U.S. at the time, driving and exploring new places became my weekend activities.
I was very lucky to discover autocross in 2019 when a colleague shared a link to an autocross school. The rest is history. Motorsport holds a special place in my heart because, for the first time in my life, at age 33, I experienced what it felt like to have a hobby. In that same year, I went from knowing nothing about autocross to competing in ProSolo and Solo Nationals—my passion quickly turned into purpose.
Like many grassroots racers, my path hasn’t been linear. I stepped away from motorsports for a few years due to career demands, financial constraints, and job relocations.
I returned in 2022 for an ice racing event, followed by occasional autocross, rallycross, track days, and indoor karting. It was also the year I obtained my green card through an employer-sponsored National Interest Waiver pathway. I celebrated by treating myself to a race school, where I received valuable on-track coaching and the opportunity to drive a Formula 4 car for a day.
I changed jobs and relocated again in 2023, which became another year of hibernation from motorsports. Eventually, life became more stable, and I decided to restart my motorsports journey.
In 2024, I returned with a renewed focus on karting. In 2025, I signed up for my first go-kart race at a local club. In 2026, while continuing to develop my racecraft through karting, I challenged myself further and earned my competition license for road racing.
Keep following my journey to see what is possible for an ordinary person entering motorsports later in life.

As a woman, I have experienced a great deal of discouragement when choosing paths that do not conform to traditional gender stereotypes. I remember when I was a child, I enjoyed hanging out with boys and playing soccer with them on the streets. One day, I was told that girls did not play soccer, and from that day onward, I stopped. It is a simple moment, but it reflects a larger reality—how easily young girls can be steered away from what they love by even unintentional comments.
Today, as a late-starting racer deeply passionate about motorsport in the grassroot fields, I am committed to changing that narrative. My mission is to document and share my journey to inspire more women to step into motorsports, while also supporting anyone, both men and women, who are curious but unsure where to begin.
By making motorsport more approachable, visible, and inclusive, I aim to be both a resource and a role model—demonstrating that there is a place for everyone and that anyone can participate and feel they belong.

Grassroots motorsport is where passion begins, but for many people, the financial barrier to entry feels overwhelming. Having the right cars with the right set ups and maintenance, tires, entry fees, travel, and storage all add up quickly. My mission #2 is to help make motorsport more accessible and achievable for everyday people who dream of racing.
I believe sponsorship should not exist only at the professional level. Grassroots racers, local clubs, and small racing communities also create value for businesses through storytelling, social media, community engagement, and brand exposure. By building stronger connections between racers and sponsors, we can create more opportunities for people to participate in motorsport.
Through documenting my own journey as a late-starting racer, entrepreneur, and content creator, I hope to inspire others while helping grow a more inclusive and financially sustainable grassroots racing culture — one where more people can afford to start, learn, and stay in the sport.
I kept showing up and learnt something in every event.
I attended the SCCA Solo Nationals 6 months after I started doing autocross. I did not have the right car and the right set up to be competitive. I learnt a lot and I had a lot of fun.
I love the speed!
Great opportunity to practice left foot braking!
Flying on the track in a 700 hp car!
The best driving experience ever!
